The funny thing about photography (and I would assume filmmaking as well) is how accidents and mistakes can genuinely improve the quality of one's work. Case in point: this photo. This is the only serviceable photo in my shoot with Brian Herzlinger. You can read the full story on this horrible photo shoot here. That Herzlinger's eyes are closed is a pure accident. I had asked him to do something slightly different and caught him at just the wrong second here. When I look at the photo of him with his eyes open I get creeped out and then wonder what the hell I was trying to do. So the best photo of this shoot, and one of my personal favorites, came about thanks to me taking the picture at the wrong time. In this case, one wrong makes a right.
