I've often read (in Stumped? of course) director Robert Altman talk about 'happy accidents'. He uses this term to refer to things that weren't planned that turned out well. This is one of my favorite photos that I've taken because of one of these happy accidents. I told Grevioux to walk towards me from about 100 yards away and began photographing him as he came forward. The second time he did this, he made a fist and cupped it with his other hand. I was squatting catcher-style for this and began to lose my balance, dipping my camera to the side. The result of this was that the photo is tilted slightly, which brings a sense of menace to the picture that it would have been completely lacking had I kept my balance.
