Starring Val Kilmer, Mira Sorvino, et al. Released to DVD on April 27, 1999.
Pretty pansy boy, Val Kilmer stars in this romantic comedy as Virgil, a blind masseur living and working in up state New York. Virgil meets the vacationing Amy (Mira Sorvino) as she attempts to escape from her hectic and crazy life as a self-employed architect. Naturally, the two unrealistically photogenic characters begin dating and fall for one another. Amy reads about a miraculous new cure for blindness, pitches the idea to Virgil, and before you know it, Amy is giving Virgil "hands-on" experience on what her breasts look like. As it turned out, I truly enjoyed this film. The reason for this is one-fold: At First Sight is a different movie. This was an original motion picture in every sense of the meaning. Kilmer himself is a choad. His character overreacts to a lot of sensory images, but Sorvino's Amy anchors the film as a supportive, caring and loving character, a type of character that, like the white rhinos, is fast becoming extinct. I was amazed at how much I didn't hate this film.
