Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler) is your standard 32-year-old law school graduate working in a tollbooth for one day a week. Upset at the lack of direction in his life, Sonny's enormously large breasted girlfriend (Kristy Swanson) dumps him. In a desperate attempt to get her back, Sonny, basically, adopts a kid. When he is forced to keep the kid, a Sandler brand of parenting comes forth, giving rise to near constant scenes of wall urinations, that shed light, once and for all, why New York smells so bad... now if we can just explain the rats... Sandler's presence gave Big Daddy some entertainment value, but, with a lot more 'serious' moments and warm, weepy scenes than any of Sandler's previous films, this was nothing along the lines of Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison.
