It's hard to give any film with an excellent performance by Kevin Spacey a negative review, but this unpleasant task cannot be escaped after viewing Spacey's most recent outing, The Big Kahuna. On one particularly principled business trip in the lives of three industrial lubricant salesmen, Larry (Spacey), Phil (Danny DeVito) and Bob (Peter Facinelli) the trio discuss the merits of business, Jesus and life. Set entirely within one hotel suite, it should come as no surprise to anyone that this was originally written as a stage play. Unfortunately, the lack of settings removes a dynamic from The Big Kahuna that the film just couldn't overcome. This wanted to be better and honestly should have been.
