Produced by the same team of clay-mation experts that delivered the witty and wildly amusing Wallace & Grommit shorts, Chicken Run was to be Aardman Studios' wonderful first foray into the world of feature length films. As it turned out, this The Great Escape-esque comedy of the chickens in the Tweedy Chicken Farms chicken coops seemed to based mostly on potential. Chicken Run is warm and funny at times (although the majority of the humor in this film comes from bad puns involving words associated with chickens: e.g. poultry in motion) but I was left strangely empty as the end credits of this film rolled. This was good, but Chicken Run just didn't begin to live up to the hype and buzz that has surrounded the project from day one.
