[PHOTO]> When you have a movie about comet the size of Mount Everest heading toward the Earth, it seems like some edge-of-your-seat suspense and action might also be headed your way. However, Deep Impact didn't have either of these desired cinematic experiences. Whenever director Mimi Leder or screenwriters Michael Tolkin and Bruce Joel Rubin had an opportunity to choose between focusing on something interesting or something intrinsically disinteresting, the less entertaining choice was inherently chosen. So, we created a little list for Leder, Tolkin, and Rubin so they can learn what we find exciting and absorbing and what we find tiresome.

interesting: watching astronauts attempt to blow up a comet with a powerful nuclear device while walking an the surface of said comet.
not interesting: watching Tea Leoni and her father hug and talk about how emotionally distant they are.

interesting: a huge, freakin' comet barreling toward the Earth that will cause all life to become extinct.
not interesting: Leoni's attempts to be promoted to the anchorwoman position at her Nightly News-like job.
<IMG SRC=
