Starring Edward Norton, Ben Stiller, et al. Released to DVD on October 10, 2000.
Actor Edward Norton rose to fame during the late '90's by playing psychologically disturbed and/or criminal minded persons in Fight Club, Primal Fear and Rounders, to name but three movies. Given this, I was quite surprised to learn that Norton chose Stuart Blumberg's warm romantic script, Keeping the Faith, as his directorial debut.
When Anna (Jenna Elfman) moves away from her two childhood best friends Brian (Norton) and Jake (Ben Stiller), she vows to return. When she does, 20 years later, now a wildly successful corporate executive, she finds Brian is a priest and Jake a rabbi and that both have fallen deeply in love with her. Funny and honest, the only downside to Keeping the Faith is a running time of just over two hours. This is easily overlooked in the end though.
