On the heels of last fall’s release of CSI: Season Two comes the third thrilling season of producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s Crime Scene Investigators. I am a confessed CSI junkie and I am extremely happy that Paramount has chosen to release make a habit of releasing their TV series to DVD every six months. This differs greatly from Fox, which releases new installments of their TV series once a year… if we’re lucky. CSI: Season Three is replete with all the fantastic forensic gore that the show is known for, along with the same strong ensemble cast led by William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger. Six of the episodes feature commentaries and there are several bonus featurettes on crime scene protocol, which are just enough extras to give fans some insight into what goes into making, writing and producing the show. Noteworthy here is the Emmy Award-winning episode "Fight Night" which captures both the nuances of forensics and the unique energy of Las Vegas that makes this series so addictive. I can’t wait for CSI: Season Four.
