Starring Will Smith, Gene Hackman, et al. Released to DVD on June 15, 1999.

Enemy of the State is the story of your average, run-of-the-mill citizen Robert Dean (Will Smith), who comes to possess certain knowledge he shouldn't have. This leads a left wing sect of the government to chase after him with large guns in hand. Everyman Smith then meets up with a P.I. named Brill (Gene Hackman) who knows a thing or too about avoiding capture from the government and blowing up buildings, and together the two run. If this material sounds strangely familiar, it's because this material is strangely familiar. Stealing elements from many different action films, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott have crafted what seemingly is a montage of exciting and adrenaline filled scenes from other movies and put them together with Smith as the front man. This is hardly to say the material in Enemy of the State isn't entertaining, but the overall production wears slightly with the ëbeen there, seen that' feeling one has.
