Starring William Shatner. Released to DVD on November 2, 1999.
While most '90's, mainstream comedies have adopted the approach that Leslie Nielsen and semen are the only ways to create laughs, Free Enterprise writers Mark Altman and Robert Meyer Burnett decided to go old school here, crafting humor through a series of well written scenes and dialogue surrounding two friends' chance meeting with their childhood hero, Captain James T. Kirk, aka: William Shatner. Robert (Rafer Weigel) and Mark (Eric McCormack) are life long friends and lovers of Star Trek. When they meet Shatner-who happens to be perusing a porn magazine when they spot him-he turns out to be much different than the two had originally expected. With Robert and Mark a few days from their 30th birthdays, this has an alarming impact on them as they come to realize that certain aspects of their lives aren't necessarily as they had imagined them to be. This was quite unexpectedly entertaining.
