Being a good American, I take great delight in the occasional home cooked burger on a kaiser role or sesame seed bun. However, despite my affinity for this meal, should I eat enough hamburgers, my propensity for them would fadeóyou can have too much of a good thing. The same holds true for action movies, a genre director, Michael Rymerís In Too Deep falls squarely into. Omar Epps stars as Jeff Cole, a rookie undercover cop trying to catch a Cincinnati drug dealer named God (LL Cool J). The problem, and there is just one with In Too Deep, is the lack of originality. I saw the plot before in New Jack City, the actors playing the same roles in The Mod Squad and the tension in Donnie Brasco and Sugar Hill. This movie had a reasonable budget, but, as a whole, nothing stood out in In Too Deep other than mediocrity.
