Judas Kiss is a crafty and enjoyably complex film with a budget about $10 million too small for its own good. Writer/director Sebastian Gutierrez's movie follows the kidnapping and subsequent ransom demands of a well-respected and extraordinarily rich businessman. Detectives Sadie Hawkins (Emma Thompson) and David Friedman (Alan Rickman) are assigned to make sense of the matter. Gutierrez's script deserves praise as the minutia involved within the storyline all matters, but the slim number of sets and locations made this film feel a lot smaller than it should have been.
