Limbo is director John Sayles' latest slow moving tale to hit the silver screen. Donna De Angelo (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) and her daughter, Noelle (Vanessa Martinez) live in Alaska and spend their days just happy to be in a place that isn't near Donna's abusive husband. Time passes and the two eventually get stranded on an island off the coast of Alaska with Joe Gastineau (David Strathairn). Then the trio bonds. A 90 year old behind the wheel of a '57 Cadillac moves faster than this plot does. The ending, which many critics hailed as magnificent, is positively ridiculous. A complete waste of time.
