It never ceases to amaze me how Hollywood can churn out utter crap like The Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps and that product, based on the appeal of one star, can make the film a breakaway success. Save for one incredibly funny scene ala the original's "colon cleansing" scene, The Nutty Professor 2 was one of the most cliched, predictable and frivolous wastes of talent in ages. Sadder yet is that this sequel is such a direct rip-off of the first Nutty Professor (which itself was a rip-off of Jerry Lewis' Nutty Professor) that it seemed like a misuse of funds to have had a second script written. That this hackneyed, "be true to yourself" frivolity was written by Chris and Paul Weitz (American Pie, Antz) Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield makes this jumbled mess even harder to swallow, as all of these writers should distinctly and definitively know better.
