Starring Gillian Anderson, Ellen Burstyn. Released to DVD on August 24, 1999.
A rather bland drama focusing on roughly 6 stories about the intertwining lives of 11 different people. Ultimately, all the people turn out to be part of a very dispersed family, headed by patriarch Sean Connery. Most of the stories presented here are shallow and quite uninteresting; the relationship between Jon Stewart and Gillian Anderson being the best of the bunch. Choppy and confusing to a fault, Playing by Heart could have been made drastically better by cutting a grand majority of the sub-plots.
