Starring David Arquette, Neve Campbell, et al. Released to DVD on July 4, 2000.

Oh, you'll be screaming all right, it's just that this time around it'll be in pain, not terror as the material in this film has degenerated so far from the original it truly is scary. Gone completely are the clever writing and self-reflective genius of the first two films of the trilogy. Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) returns a 3rd time for more slicing and dicing action at the hand of a 3rd different killer clad in white mask and dark robe. To keep the identity of the killer in Scream 3 a secret, the production shot upwards of four different endings to the film with four different killers. The plan was to insert the ending that would be the biggest surprise. On one hand shooting four endings might seem prescient and smart, on the other hand though, this meant that there were also motives for four different people to be the killer, making the whodunit is a virtual guessing game. With this third film, the Scream trilogy grinds to a close. My only hope is that this franchise stays dead.
