Unusual, completely original and damn funny, writer/director Bill Plympton's I Married a Strange Person is a delight for those of us who both appreciate and enjoy animated films. And despite a somewhat elementary, pencil-sketch style of animation, penned by Plympton himself, the intriguing and experimental nature of this story keeps this film fun and enjoyable. When Grant Boyer discovers a boil on his neck, he realizes that the clogged pore has given him the ability to make his fantasies come trueówho would have ever though acne could be so much fun? With this new power, Grant starts to torture his in-laws, annoy his wife, and, generally cause as much havoc as is possible. Written by Plympton and co-writer PC Vey, the tone of the humor in I Married a Strange Person is distinctly off-beat and politically incorrect. I Married a Strange Person is a bizarre treat.
