is an enigma to me. It is a landmark film, with one of the best scores of all time and is filled with a subtle style and presence that is missing from 95% of movies today. Yet it has lip sync issues (thanks to the fact that some of the characters delivered their dialogue in Italian, which was later dubbed to English). While this is sometimes quite irritating to watch, writer/director Sergio Leone fortunately doesnt have an excess of dialogue in the movie, which makes it somewhat of a lesser problem. Sadly, there isnt much that can be done about this now, and MGM has done all it can to make sure that this film is as close to perfect as it can be. Presented here in its uncut glory, the newly restored print of The Good The Bad and the Ugly looks and sounds fantastic. The colors are sharp, bold and crisp and Ennio Morricones score a digitally remastered delight. Enthralling from the word go, this DVD is the definitive version of this superb film that is now available. Its about time.
