Starring Pierce Brosnan, Sophie Marceau, et al. Released to DVD on May 16, 2000.

A most entertaining film, The World is Not Enough works because, unlike so many of the other James Bond movies, it stands well on its own two feet, away from the series. Normally, Bond films interest me as much as the latest Merchant/Ivory productions because of their wildly preposterous plot lines--villains hiding in volcanoes and on the moon, killing women by painting them gold, etc. However, I found the story behind The World is Not Enough believable within the context of the world today...ignoring the character of Renard for the time being. Pierce Brosnan returns for the third time as superagent 007, the man with the license to thrill, chill and kill. Here Bond travels to the Caspian Sea to investigate who is behind the recent sabotaging of Elektra King's (Sophie Marceau) oil pipelines. Filled with some of the best conceptualized and filmed stunts and chases in recent memory, and a last line that will force a smile on your face, The World is Not Enough was a most enjoyable action yarn.
