Hollywood works on a reward system. When a talent scores big on a given picture, that talent will often be given a chance to work on a pet project in order to keep the talent happy and close to one particular studio. After the success of Friday, MGM offered co-writer and executive producer DJ Pooh the opportunity to step away from New Line and make his own film, Three Strikes. When Rob Douglas (Brian Hooks) is released from prison for a second time, he is determined to stay out of trouble to ensure that he doesn't get locked up for life under California's three-strikes-and-you're-out policy. Then his ride home pulls up in a stolen car. Outside of a script with more uses of the racial slur rhyming with Tigger, this film doesn't even register as a blip on the radar.
