Movies are made for many reasons these days, and sometimes I wonder, other than distraction, what the point of watching a film is. Then a movie like Twin Falls Idaho along that eloquently grasps your heart and reminds what an important medium this can be. The plot is not so complicated. A girl takes care of boy and his brother, then falls in love with the boy. What makes this movie so special is that the boy is attached to his twin brother. They, Blake and Francis are conjoined twins played by, Michael and Mark Polish, respectively. Darkly set in a dim, big city on Halloween, the brothers journey to confront their mother who gave them away at birth. During their journey, the brothers meet Penny (Michele Hicks) a woman of the night. She cares for the brothers and then befriends them as they confront their past and then meet their fate. This movie reminds us that difference is no match for compassion.
