Robin Williams stars as Dr. Chris Nielsen. Nielsen is married to Annie (Annabella Sciorra). Nielsen dies one day, as sometimes happens, and he is transported to a heaven of his own creating. Not knowing how she will be able to live her life without her husband, Annie kills herself, putting herself in Hell. Learning of this development, Nielsen travels into the depths of Hell to bring his true love back to heaven with him.

That's it. That's all there is to it. There is no bad guy. There are no real obstacles Nielsen faces--even Hell isn't particularly bad--and no real message I took with me other than "everybody can be really happy after they die". This was eye candy, devoid of taste.
