Released to DVD on July 18, 2000. ![[Photo]](/photos/whatplanetareyoufrom.jpg) Garry Shandling stars in What Planet Are You From? as Harold Anderson, a member of a race of humanoids living on a planet beyond Earth's detection, who has been chosen to be sent to Earth in an attempt to impregnate an Earth woman; a situation that instantly begs the question, is it just common knowledge in the universe that Earth girls are easy? The first 20 minutes of this satirical romantic comedy were as dryly and observantly funny as any other 20 minutes in film this year. The rest of the movie is another matter though, as the plot begins to slip away from one alien's impressions of current American culture and toward stereotypical family first, Full House-like comedy. As soon as it became obvious that the message of What Planet Are You From? was to "be nice to one another" the laughs and entertainment value quickly disappeared.
