If you were a member of one of the most popular rock bands in history in the form of The Beatles, experimenting with any and all mind altering substances you could get your hands on, up to and including paint thinner and white-out, making a poorly animated movie about an undersea world and the blue meanies that try to make life there difficult might seem like a good idea. To the rest of the world though, this decision might seem questionable. Yellow Submarine is hardly a lucid film, nor is it supposed to be. This remastered version of John, Paul, George and Ringo's 1966, MGM cult classic is enjoyable to listen to, chalked full of 12 really trippy Beatles numbers, including "Yellow Submarine". Like Prozac, though, this film is best taken in small doses.
